Today we loaned our Konik stallion, Bud, to Dave Phillips at Piddle Valley Longhorns. This allowed Eddy our young colt to join up with our mares. Since arriving on the farm Eddy had been ejected from the herd by Bud, and was always on his own a long way away. In this video Eddy cautiously greets the girls.

Lambing in full swing at Downton and the ewes have put in a complaint about a lack of grass, but we so far not a disaster.

Pest lambs are back! I’m not so keen but they go down well with the school groups so we can keep a handful and give most away to people with more patience than me!

Spring is in the air for the Konik ponies! Our first born foal. It’s interesting the whole herd a quite flighty today and not wanting me to get close to the baby, being quick to run away.
